Cusimax Smokeless Indoor Grill

Korean BBQ on the kitchen counter with almost no smoke. My most-watched video, and the grill still earns its spot.

The verdict

Buy it if you grill indoors

I bought this for Korean BBQ nights when it's too hot or too rainy to fire up the Pit Boss. The plate gets hot enough for real grill marks, and because the fat drips into a water tray instead of hitting an element, the smoke alarm stays quiet. It has become the pan I reach for on weeknights.

What's good

  • Heats up in under 5 minutes and holds temperature
  • Real sear marks on beef, chicken and thin-cut pork belly
  • Drip tray and water reservoir keep smoke to almost nothing
  • Grill plate lifts off and goes in the dishwasher

What's not

  • Not as hot as charcoal โ€” thick steaks are better outside
  • Cooking surface is right for 2โ€“3 people, tight for a party
  • Short power cord limits where it can sit on the counter
